Unhappy 2005 no start, new battery

Got one thats got me scratching my head. I have searced high and low on several different web sites for info on how this keyless ignition system works and or how to test the components. So the vehicle is a 05 came in for a no start. I tried to crank it over but it seemed like it had a dead battery. So I charged it for 1/2 hour or so and tried again, now I have power but still not enough to start. so while I was waiting for a battery for the vehicle I put a fuel pressure guage on the end of the rail just for good measure and sure enough...0psi on the guage, key on. So put the new battery in and fuel pressure jumped up as soon as the ignition was truned on, so cranked it and it fired right up. So thinking that the battery was the cause I put everything back together and shipped the vehicle. Friday morning,2 days later, here comes the flatbed with a nice shiny corvette on the back pulling in. You can imagine what I was saing :P So now the vehicle has plently of cranking power but will not start. So I let it sit for a couple of hours and went back to it after lunch. Believe it or not...it fried up! So I let it run while I checked the condition of the battery and the alternator and both checked out fine. Shut it off and let it sit agian. Go back to it after an hour and it wont start again! WTF. pushed it back on the lift. replaced the batteries in both fobs and the vehicle battery. has no fuel pressure when cranking, thats what makes me think it may be a keyless issue, rcdlr? Ive tried putting the fob in the slot next to the glove box, no change. It doesnt have the words "no fobs found" in the cluster and is reconizing both of the fobs, driver 1 and driver 2. Any help or tests to perform would be great. I do not have a Tech 2 but I do have a snap-on modus. Thanks in advance

Hi there,

Your Modus limits you substantially.

You will need data from your remote control door lock receiver and your body control module in order to continue diagnosis.

This will tell you if it sees any remote or not and gives the command to the starter enable relay.

Do you have Alldata???

Hi there,
Check to make sure there is NO AFTERMARKET ELECTRONIC DEVICES in the center console area or on the dash board.

The receiver is directly below the center outlets for the HVAC.

Alldata does have the diagnostics to check this out.

Hi there,

There is NO WAY to accurately diagnose the system without accurate data from both modules.

If you put the fob in the pocket, what happens ????

does it start every time ?????

If you crank the engine, but dont have fuel pressure, the keyless system is NOT the issue. You have a fuel system issue.

when the vehicle wouldnt start..putting the key in the pocket did nothing and also had no fuel pressure. as soon as I replaced the vehicle battery the fuel pressrue jumped up and it started fine, thats when i shipped it. Friday afternoon when it got towed back in it acted the same, with the exception that it cranks very stong because I replaced the battery. Now youve got me thinking of a bad fuel filter or sending unit. im going to check the fuel pressure again now. ill let you know
