CM run's hot with a/c on

hello . i have a 1988 corvette . when i turn the a/c on the car starts to overheat . when im on the highway it seems fine ! this only happens at lower speeds . i cleaned out the space between the rad and condensor thinking it was an airflow problem . i also checked the line presures . and everything is where it should be aney sugestions !! thanks !.... cheers

Do you have the Z51 or aux cooling option?

Sounds like your fan(s) are not coming on. Maybe verify they are--and verify you have plenty of fresh coolant.

On the very hottest days with the AC going full blast, I never see 220.

1985 Z51 4+3 trans rebuilt 5.7 TPI,(.10 over) w/ CompCams 12-262-4, 52MM Throttlebody, underdrive pulleys, reworked heads, Hypertech Thermomaster chip, & cat back exhaust

hey there ! yes the fans come on reguarly and the coolant is full . the car doesent overheat with the a/c off ! any other sujestions .. cheers

Hmm. That's a tough one. So many variables.

You could have a bad temp sending unit, bad connection thereto.

Have you considered a couple bottles of Water Wetter?

What are your coolant temps when you are overheating? Have you boiled out any coolant?
