CM Stainless steel brakelines..can trigger control messages?

I plan on installing Russell Stainless steel (Plastic coated) brakelines, but recently found a GM Techlink on the possibility of service ABS, service active handling, and service traction control messages being triggered by replacing the rubber OEM brake lines with stainless steel lines. Also, wheel speed sensor codes may be set. It states the metal in the brake lines conducts static electricity, causing confusion in the wheel speed sensors. Any validity to this?

Goodridge lines seem to be a lot better in that they don't set codes.

I'm thinking the plastic (teflon?) coating on the stainless steel may prevent this from happening. Anyone who has installed the Russell lines having a problem?

Not the issue. It states it may be a POSSIBILITY it could happen. I'm just wondering if someone with stainless lines, particularly Russell's brand, have had the problem.

Hi there,

I have had issues with EVERY MAKE of SS brake lines.

There not ONE that is better than the other and in some instances, they can create strange problems.

Allthebest, c4c5

I put this brand on my car before I knew what C4C5 states...

However I must admit, I've never had an issue with mine. No codes ever. I put them on my car because I am keeping it for years and considered it an upgrade. My braking sure is better too, it stops quickly.

Now go play with your tools!

I have heard they can cause issues, but for what it's worth, I have Goodridge SS lines as well with no codes triggered from them.
