I had the rear end serviced at a Chevy Dealer about a year ago where they put in synthetic fluid, part #1491 Limited Slip and #1481 Differential Fluid. The rear end makes more noise now than before. Does anyone know what is the correct fluid for a 1971? I have over 150,000 miles on the car.

HI there, I would simply put another bottle of friction modifier in and see if the noise goes away. Are the noises only when turning??? Allthebest, c4c5 |

if the noise is only when turning at low speed, then add a bottle of friction modifier..if its at moderate speed going straight, you have problems
