CM Continuing to struggle with Code 42 ??

Hello All,

Ok I have a 1994 LT-1 Vette, Auto Trans, with 118,000 Miles & im still struggling with this Code 42. when I start the car it runs rough and then dies, then it will restart and after several minutes of driving it smoothes out and runs perfect, Here is a list of all the new parts, new MSD Opti-Spark, new Coil, new IAC, new ICM, new TPS, new Spark Plugs, new Spark Plug Wires, new Fuel Pump, new Pigtails for all of the above parts and the wiring looks good, I sent the P.C.M. out to be tested and it passed with no problems. The fuel pressure is at 40 PSI, At this point I really dont know what to troubleshoot next and im so frustrated because this has been going on for a few months now, im considering just dropping it off at the repair shop and see what they can figure out.

So now I have the current problem and not sure which direction to take. Thanks again.

Well I decided to check for codes again today and I still have the 42 but I also have a DTC 24 & DTC 62, So im going to try and figure out what they are. The car runs like crap for about 10-15 minutes and then it smooths out and runs perfect.

Early TPI set-ups had an injector that only came on at start, like a choke. It's called a Cold Start Injector. Had a switch and maybe a relay too.

Anyway, it was phased out when the designs got better, but I'm not sure what year.

I upgraded to Gen III from the Gen Is and I understand these do not need the cold start, but I still have it. This is why my engine revs to about 1500RPM on start and then settles down when the cold start injector cuts off about a minute in. It's annoying, but I haven't found a work-around yet.
