2009 Z06 with 6,000 miles. Purchased new. The right front tire is wearing out in the center faster than the other three tires. Looks like an over infration. I monitor the air pressure. At least as often as OnStar sends me an update and in between. I try my best to keep the pressure at 30 psi. In the morning the tire pressure is 27 or 28 PSI. After the ride to work it is 30 or 31. 90 percent of my driving is on a tollway against the traffic so I drive 75 to 80 MPH. All three other tires are wearing perfectly. I am thinking maybe I have a defective pressure sensor. Any suggestions, solutions? Thank you, Richard D. Cadena

Actually, you need a decent alignment. Search: "alignment" and you should find info (even from me!) If you do a lot of turns, then you need to keep an eye on inner front tire tread...

HI there, Check your tire pressure with a gauge other than your drivers information center and let us know what you have. If your at 27 psi cold, then you should not have tire wear in the center. Definately have your alignment checked if all your tire pressures are accurate with the gauge. Allthebest, c4c5 |

I once had a wrongway driver pass me on I-5 southbound. It's a 4 lane fwy. I was in #4 lane getting ready to take an offramp. All of a sudden the van in front of me merges REAL FAST from the #3 lane to the #4 lane in front of me. I'm like WTH? About 1 second later an old guy passed me in the #3 lane doing about 65(the OTHER way.) It turns out he got confused and went up the offramp in Carlsbad. He made it all the way to San Onofre before he got into a head on crash. (That's 20 miles!) It was a friday afternoon so you know traffic was light (yeah, riiiight!) There was a newspaper article on it Saturay morning titled: Lucky to live on Easy St." I guess he lived on easy St! Wow, talk about a threadjack!

Against the traffic: When everybody is going south to, the central business district, I am going north to the suburbs. When everybosy is going to the suburbs I am going to the central business district. The tollway has four lanes going north and four going south. Traffic is very light when I drive it.

Sorry about that. When I am in Z06 mode I get too serious. I took everybody's advice. I just left the car at the Chevy dealership. I showed the service assistant the tire and even he was perplexed. By the way I do use a tire pressure gauge. This is why I don't get it. I hope it just needs a four wheel alignment. If not, it is still under the bumper to bumper warrantee. I just hate to drive a rental car. No fun! My thanks to everybody for their input. Richard D. Cadena

Per Bankston Cheverolet: It is not an alignment problem. I need to do a better job of keeping the tires properly inflated. I ordered a super duper digital air pressure gauge through the dealership. One more item on the Saturday to do list. Check the air pressure. Personally I think it is fun keeping my toy in tip top shape. rdc

Here's what I can add~ I have 42136 miles on my 2006 Z06. I just installed my 4TH set of Tires. Here's how the mileage/wear breaks down: Front tires: 0 to 20133 miles on OEM Goodyears. 20133 to 33778 miles OEM Goodyears (13645 net miles) 33778 to 42136 miles OEM Goodyears (8358 net miles) 42136 to ??? Michelin PS2's. I replaced when corded. Rear tires: 0 to 20926 miles OEM Goodyears 20926 to 35642 miles OEM Goodyears (14716 net miles) 35642 to 42136 miles OEM Goodyears (6494 net miles) 42136 to ????? Michelin PS2's Only one got to the cords during the 2nd set. I did somewhat change out the OEM's a little early today, but they were really done. (I did have a little "fun" with them yesterday as I knew I'd be replacing them today!) I am a child... ** My car has been aligned @ 7700 miles and again @ 37000 miles. Initial alignment was lousy.
