Let me apologise for not putting this into the Z06 section as everytime I click on it, it redirects me to "C5 Tech." Now, on with the show! I have a 2006 C6Z with 42,XXX miles. I just replaced my 3rd set of Goodyears with my first set of PS2's. While the wheels were off, I always inspect the various hardware as access is better. I noticed the padlet wear is more with the trailing pad. I would have thought the leading pad would take the most wear, but this is not the case (with my car anyway.) Is this normal? I have the OEM pads, rotors & calipers. No brake parts have ever been replaced (not even the fluid!) This anomoly was only noticed on the front calipers. The rears seemed evenly worn. The most worn padlets were 3.4mm thick. (not including the backing material.) The rest are 5-6mm, (guessing here as I only measured the thinnest padlets.) Can I move the padlets around to take advantge of the difference in wear? Or, is that a "Bozo no-no?" | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, It is possible that one of the pad pins is binding the pad. I have seen this alot, where the pads get all messed up with brake dust and this condition is created. I would also be looking at those caliper pistons very closely to make sure they are floating freely and do not bind at all. Allthebest, c4c5 |
