I take it you mean the polycarbonate lenses. Those are glued to their housings. You can cut 'em off (like Callaway does) or you might get the glue to release without breaking the lens, maybe. You might be able to get a swab on a stick and wipe the inside via the lamp mounting holes in the back. kraz, post a pic of these "spots."

I am not sure how to fix it, but I have a similar problem on my 06 lenses. I almost seems like there is an oily film inside the lenses. I asked a body shop about replacing them and I was told that the entire lens housing would have to be replaced at a cost of more than $1,000 each. Right now I am looking into a body shop that stains the outside of the lenses to match the body color at a cost of $100 per lens. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've noticed that very "film" that you speak of. (I also found out that new lamps are $970 each!) With no gaurantee that the new ones wounldn't have the same film, I decided to keep the $2000 and buy gas with it instead. Now, 44,000 miles later, my headlights are so scratched from sand, pebbles and wind, that the film can't be seen anyway! I've heard that covering the lenses with clear bra overheats them and causes crazing. On a side note- you wouldn't believe how sand blasted my foglights are!

Dave if you ever find a body shop that stains the lens let us know. Sounds interesting as I've never heard of that. I always thought smoked lens would be cool but never looked into it because of all the heat issues mentioned....

I saw an example of these stained lenses on a red Dodge Charger at a car show. They looked great. The owner told me he had it done at a body shop in Oswego, Illinois. The light is supposed to still look clear at night time. I will find out the name of the body shop and let you know.

,I would stay away from blue or red. I was pulled over once with small blue lights, actually LED washer squirters, that came out of the hood. Cop said my car is the only one allowed to have red or blue. You want red or blue, then that's fine for a car show or car cruise, but don't drive it with them on. He let me go without a ticket... You can buy new lenses... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/C6-Co...Q5fAccessories
