CM GM DEXOS replaces Mobil 1

This is for all those using Mobil 1.

GM DEXOS 1 fluid lubrication specification replaces 4718M for usage in Corvette.

GM dexos information center

It is substantially less money and will NOT VOID ANY WARRANTY.

Look at the specification and who licenses it to make SURE it is good to use if you decide to use something else.

I don't like the veiled threat of:

"Using engine oils other than authentic dexos™ licensed products could result in damage that is not covered under warranty."

What SAE specs aren't enough good enough anymore?

I can see the FTC taking exception with this too.

If you go to the Dexos website click on the upper menu, and look at licensed products, Mobil 1 is one of the products that are Dexos1 approved

HI there,

From what I have been told, its more of a move to reduce costs and still provide 300,000 mile build capability of the powertrains.

Especially considering that Mobil one is getting more and more expensive.

And alot of people do not use their oil life monitors and change the oil every 3k.
