CM Rear Rotor Removal

Hi.
I am in the process of removing the rotors on my ‘08 for some detailing. The fronts are already off, but I have 2 questions re the rears.

They do not want to come off as easily as the fronts. This is no doubt due to the parking brake - I had hoped that jiggling the rotors would allow them to slip past the shoes.

The manual says to unhook the cable lever at the backing plate. I am not sure how to do this easily. Can anyone help?
Another question: when I do get the rotor out, will the parking brake innards stay put, or will I have a mess of parts & springs on the floor?

First ½" of snow today. Four months to go.....

Thanks for your help,

Hi there,

It should only take a little rotating the rotor just slightly.

Just dont forget to spray a little rust penetrant on the hub to ease the rotors sliding off the hub!!!

Allthebest, c4c5

Thanks Paul.

Intitially I was afraid to be too forceful because I envisioned an assortment of brake shoes and springs falling all over the garage floor .

After reading your post, I felt more confident, and easily managed to jiggle the rotors off by hand.

I'm off to the powder coater tomorrow.

Thanks again,

M...
