CM weather striping

hi all, my 12,000mi 08 has a problem with the pass. side weatherstriping on the a piller it is peeling and looks very bad i took it to the chevy dealer and thay told me it was not coverd under warranty is this true? or should i take my vette to another dealer? i still have bumper to bumper f/w how hard is it to change does the windshield have to come out? any temp. fixes ? thanks kraz

hi he handed me a letter #99-08-64-016c from gm it states weaterstrips that are discolored should not be replaced under normal gm warranty 1st my strips are not disclored thay are sheding its skin 2nd what is ment by normal warranty?

Normal warranty is the vehicle manufacturers warranty, in this case GM. You would need to ask the person who told you that to be sure though, they could have meant something totally different.

First I've heard of this. I would think the weatherstripping would be covered within the "bumper-to-bumper" warranty. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems odd.

HI there,

Find another dealership.

This is a tough repair to perform, and it takes about 3 hours to correctly. The windshield does not have to be removed, but the moldings all around the windshield DO>

hi c4c5 thanks for the info do you think the moldings around the windshield will go back together ok i seen some vettes with the molding or gasket sticking up on the windshield does the dealer do this job or do thay callsomeone else thank you
