Hi there,

This is true, an accurate evaluation of the top must be done to see exactly what is wrong.

Details are subtle & certain light angle necessary -difficult to photo. Seems to be a fairly common occurence -thought someone may have figured it out by now -guess multiple causes. Thanks for replies.

This is an issue on C5 as well... I personally think its the heat from the sun and the punishment it takes from the sun.

Not sure if waxing it would protect it or not.

I always run my body color top and actaully hate the smoked one, as it make my head feel like its in a greenhouse.

Now go play with your tools!

1998 6-speed Coupe. Z06 exhaust, Z06 sway bars, C6 Z06 Shifter, LS6 Intake Manifold, K&N FIPK, Vararam Velocity Stack, stainless steel brake lines, Borla X pipe, Z06 shocks. SAE Dyno Numbers 330 RWHP/340 RWTQ

Sounds like they all do it and I for one would not want one if it still does this - like 1100 bucks and then to have problems - why have they not corrected this - they have know about it for some time. Typical GM piece of .

Given enough time the sun will destroy most any rubber, plastic or similar materials.

GM & supplier have had plenty of time to correct this problem. Why purchase another knowing the same problem may occur?
