So I took my 89 vette to my local chevy dealer today to have them put new fuel injectors in with all the gaskets and rings needed.. Jon from FIC hooked me up with everything needed for the job, parts wise... So I talked with the tech. and he said that he probably wouldnt have to take it "all"apart to get to them and the gaskets probably were not needed... Does that sound right??? (Yes I asked for a corvette certified tech),,, Can the swap out be done with taking "little" off? thanks,, rj

NO!!! Any paper gasket removed, such as those in the TPI setup MUST be replaced each time. They cost pennies. Who wouldn't? He'll have to loosen the bottom runner bolts and remove the upper to do the job half-assed, in each case maybe tearing but certainly breaking the seal of the gaskets. To do the job properly, one must remove the runners completely and replace both gaskets.

Dunno about those spares. I'd look at some of the install videos on YouTube (FIC has some too) and check it out. Mine are Ford Racing ($139 delivered)and came with new o-rings top and bottom and slipped right in. Gaskets? Four for the runners, one for the TB, one for the IAC on the TB, maybe one for the fuel pressure regulator? Maybe he just hooked you up with a handful of runner gaskets, in case one got scrapped? Book may be 3.5hrs, but my cats can do it in 2.5--and do it right, and they have no thumbs!
