| What is the recommended torque setting for the side post battery terminal ? I thought it was around 10 in-lbs. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| No problem. Make sure that the cables are tight after tightening by trying to wiggle them back and forth, as sometimes (it's rare, but I have seen it enough times to know that it does exist) the battery bolt length and battery terminal depth are not compatible. | ||||||||||||||||||||

50 years ago I worked in a service station with an old mechanic from Saskatchewan. His favourite saying was: 'Tighten it until it breaks and then back off half a turn.'

When I wrote GM Services Manuals back when, a real torque spec used by engineering was "Fully Seated, not Stripped". Guess it works, but you can fully seat and damage the threads, not knowing until next time you back out the screw. | ||||||||||||||||||||
