CM ac problem guestion for c4/c5

driving for about 2 1/2 hours (175 miles) and noticed ac had started blowing cool but not cold, temp set to 62, max(recycled cabin air) and fan on mid level. I have made this same drive many, many times with absolutely zero issues in same type of weather...90d egree heat going from low humidity to high humidity area gradually, had driven from west texas to dallas area.....but never did this before AND when driving home at night couple days later things seemed back to normal....did the condesor ice up or am I low on freon.....what should a low on freon gauge reading look like, normal reading....thanks oh, my dealer is not one I would take car to.

Hi there,

Icing is probably not an issue.

I would suggest that you have debris built up in your condenser in front of your radiator. Normally, if you do not have enough air flow through it, this type of issue will occur.

This is especially true on higher mileage Corvette, no matter what generation.

I would suggest checking this first.

150-175 on the high pressure side and 30-35 psi on the low.

This is an estimate due to the fact that changes in humidity and temperature will change those readings.

Allthebest, c4c5

HI there,

Im thinking that there is dirt and debris stuck IN the fins of the condenser.

Normally, you would have to flush it out with a hose and water wand.
