Fuel gauge/Techron

Have a 2001 Convertible, 6 speed manual with 52, 000 mi.(Not a daily driver). When I filled it up the gauge did not go all the way to full. I filled up with Shell Premium and thi8s time I added Techron concentrate (treats 20 gal.) as suggested in another post. The gauge read about 7/8 tank when I filled up. After about 80 mi. the gauge went to empty and the Low Fuel display came on. I have not driven the car in the last 4-5 days.
Any Ideas???? Let it sit and let the Techron work???? Did the Techron cause the floats to sink???? Will the float mechanisms in the tanks have to be replaced??? Could there be an external to the tanks electrical problem to check????

As mentioned in response to your post in another thread, you need to run the Techron Plus through several tanks. Then it should work properly.

Mine did that a few times too. Just be patient and let the Techron do its work. It will take time for it to dissolve the junk off of the copper windings. I never counted, but I swear it took at least a case of that stuff to finally make the problem go all the way away. It's been over 30,000mi (daily driver) and there have been NO problems. Good luck.

Drove the car this weekend. About 5 min. after starting the gauge started working and shows no sign of problems...I will drive almost the entire tank through before a fill up so the full travel will occur on the floats. .Thanks to all for the advice ......
