Yes you can reflash another BCM for your Z06. It must be a Z06 and not an auto C5. The Tech II would then be used to program whatever different options your car has over the donor BCM and vice versa.

I bought another cars 6-speed BCM years ago for my car and its sitting in the old parts dept now for the future if needed.

Now go play with your tools!

1998 6-speed Coupe. Z06 exhaust, Z06 sway bars, C6 Z06 Shifter, LS6 Intake Manifold, K&N FIPK, Vararam Velocity Stack, stainless steel brake lines, Borla X pipe, Z06 shocks. SAE Dyno Numbers 330 RWHP/340 RWTQ

HI there,

The only time I have seen that BCMs burn out is when the CLB is put in.

Other than that, jump starting incorrectly and incorrect service procedures when working with control modules in general.

And just remember, its all dependant on what CODE is in the modules.

Allthebest, c4c5
