CM What is this?

It connects the Vararam intake to the headers. If this is part of the emission control system I can remove it and still be legal for SCCA Street prpared class. Would I just block off both ends?

That would be the electric air pump that injects air into the exhaust at start up. I think you could just cap the lines and you'd be ok. Being electric, it's fairly heavy for it's size and it sits out near the front of the car, so I'd remove it, as well.

Disabling it will throw a PO410 code.

Does it matter? He's racing the car and I'm not sure he cares about that.

Should I be able to hear this run?
Never noticed it before, the other day I heard it run at start up only at idle. Makes a werble noise. Is that a sign of a motor going out or a flow control valve sticking?

I've never noticed mine. If I knew what a "werble" noise was, maybe I could tell you, but I think I would just let it go until it dies. It only runs for a few minutes at startup, if that long.

HPTuners or EFILive tuning software can turn it off and delete any DTCs.

It's supposed to run for a few minutes on a cold start up. It's emissions related. Leave your door open at start up and you should hear it humming.
