I might have to have an medical operation with a long recoverey and I'm wondering about instead of using a battery float charger, just disconnecting the battery. Is there any harm in disconnecting the battery for four or five months? I have a 2003 Corvette coupe.

In Canada, our Winters are at least that long. I disconnect the ground cable, fully charge the battery, and let it sit until Spring, when I charge it once again, connect the ground cable, and enjoy the toy until next Winter.
