Well this is how I did it anyway! :) Tried cleaning it and the code came back. When I actually got the valve off, it was really carboned up! The valve hole, where it mates to the pipe, was smaller in diameter due to the carbon build up. Had to stand on the engine to loosen the valve and the only way I could get leverage to separate the valve from the pipe. If I tried to lean over the fenders, I just could not get the proper leverage to move the wrenches. This valve was REALLY bonded onto the pipe and there is not much room to work in. I think the coarse threads on the pipe also do not help the situation. It’s all back together now and runs just fine! What a sucky job though! And yes, yes you must take your shoes off to enter my garage! :) | ||||||||||||||||||||

I knew you'd get a kick out of it Larry since we talked about cleaning first. I soaked the pipe threads down for a couple of days, but that valve did not want to move! So it was me against the vlave and I thought, I have to do this, its the only way. Disconnected the one knock sensor and then took off my shoes and stepped right onto the lower intake! It still did not move easily, but eventually did. I was happy I did not hit the original oil pressure sensor and put a new intake gasket set on, started it up and all was perfect! Note to everyone... Whatever the dealers charge is well worth it, trust me, its not a fun job! | ||||||||||||||||||||

| No, sorry. I looked at it to inspect, saw the carbon and touched it with my screwdriver to see if it was impacted or not. It was not and broke apart pretty easily. I still have the old valve, it just looks pretty black inside. | ||||||||||||||||||||
