I don't knock down all that many miles every year. So i like to add a fuel cleaner with every fuel-up. I have a few cans of BG44K and one bottle of Chevron Techron. Have any of you techs have any experience with either fuel cleaner? I have a 2003 50th Anniversary LS1 coupe. A number of friends who have a Camaro and a late model Porsche use the BG44K, where as I hear from many Corvette owners who use the Techron. The labels say virtually the same thing. So I'm confused ? Thank you

HI there, The Techron is more of a fuel injector cleaner. The 44k is more of a decarbonizer, and is recognized by a number of manufacturers as the best decarbonizer. Allthebest, c4c5 |

I have a 2003 LS1 (20k miles) anniversary edition too. I was getting lousy mileage, but good driveablity (23-24 mpg highway). I ran 3 double doses of Techron through with no appreciable difference, but when I used 2 cans of Seafoam on 2 separate fillups, I began averaging over 27 mpg - this was all with a week, on a trip). I don't know if the difference was the cumulative effect of everything I used - or the Seafoam.
