CM Maintenance

I have a 2009 C6 coupe, Z51, automatic with 15,000 miles, 2 years old.

Recently I took my Corvette into the dealer for an oil change and they hit me up for a lot more than I expected. (Oil change , differential fluid change, alignment, balancing, battery check, and a lot of inspecting) Total cost was about $500.

They said this was a normal 1-year check-up based on mileage. A 2-year check-up would have been about $800.

My question is: what is included in Maintenance I and Maintenance II and which did I get?

More general question is: What is the maintenance that should I been doing and what other owners are doing?

HI there,

Um, if they just did that WITHOUT your authorization, I would ask for my money back.

NO DEALERSHIP can do work and just charge you for it.

#2, there is no need to do the differential and you will see no mention of that in the owners manual.

#3, if you got a printout of the alignment, then the balancing and alignment is a good move.

#4, if they charge you for a battery check, I would be wondering why.

Your owners manual will tell you what you need but truthfully, I would have recommended the balance, alignment and maybe add a Techron but thats about it.

Allthebest, c4c5

Thanks for the information. I will question the work more closely in the future.

The battery check was useful. I got a new battery. Batteries in Arizona only last about 2 years.

The alignment print out was in the car. It indicated the toe was slightly out of spec.
