The dealer recently told me that my 2003 has a very slight oil leak at the oil pan (he didn't say whether it was at the upper or lower oil pan gasket). I've not seen the leak myself, and there is no oil on the floor of the garage. The dealer wanted $700 to replace the oil pan gaskets. I asked the dealer if they could simply tighten the oil pan bolts and see if that stopped the leak - but the service adviser said "that never works." It seems to me that there are several courses of action I could take: 1. Ignore the leak until it gets bad enough to drip onto the garage floor. - or - 2. Torque the oil pan bolts to specifications and see if that stops the leak. What advice can you give me?

HI there, Honestly, if you havent seen a leak and your oil level is normal, I would wait till you see something on your garage floor. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Sounds good. Thanks for the advice. If I do start seeing oil on the floor would you try torquing the bolts as the next step?
