Hi guys, Im having a problem with my 92 lt1. The motor is hunting for an idle, between 800rpm and 1100rpm. Under acceleration the motor cuts out then comes right back. You stop at a light, the idle hunts then the motor shuts down. The car starts right back up again. Brought it to the dealer and they said it was the fuel pump. Replaced it ...not the problem. Then they said it was the fuel pressure regulator...not the problem, they replace the air position valve and the idle position motor..not the problem.. thats when i took the car back. I changed the coil and mod...still not the problem. I was told it might be in the ignition relay, But I don't know where it is on the car. Help...I'm ready to put a bomb under the hood and call it a day. Mike the plumber.

HI there, They are guessing because they dont know. Got a question, since you just did your clutch, and the ground sources are located at the BELL HOUSING, did anyone check to make sure they were tight ????? Thats the FIRST place I would be going, because my guess is that you didnt have this problem before. They didnt fix it and I would fight to get my money back. They DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM, when they said they could. Allthebest, c4c5 |

I agree that they don't know . Unfortunately the problem was there before i did the clutch. It started as a little miss once in a blue moon. But now its real bad, I don't want to drive the car. You would think one of the largest corvette dealers in north jersey, with so called top mechanics would find the problem. When I questioned the service manager, he said they are just not on antiques !! Thats when I called him a jackass and took my car back. By the way that is the Paramus Auto Mall, Paramus NJ. So now what, should I put that bomb under the hood !! Thanx Mike the plumber.

HI there, I would say the really best way to do it is to start with watching your voltage gauge on your dash. Also, make sure your battery terminals are torqued to 11 ft lbs. I cannot tell you how many problems I have seen because of that simple step at the battery. Let us know , c4c5 |
