Angry Got the Vette back from the body shop today.

About 2 weeks ago at a local car cruise on monday night, I get back to the car to leave and found someone took a knife or very sharp key to the drivers side frt. fender. Cut to the primer.

I know who did it, unfortunatly noone seen it happen. I started having problems last year with a now 74 yr. old neighbor. We've lived next to each other since 1977. Always got along and helped each other.

My garden hose was cut 3 times last year. I suspected him after the first time, the third time he stumbled against the house and I was able to see him hustle home. I confronted him the next day but didn't call the police.

Nothing more from last October till now. He has a couple of restored Chevies and was at the same cruise. We went to find him and he was gone. About an hour earlier for him. I made a police report, but can't do anything without proof.

Back to the car. 01 Magnetic Red 18,000 miles. It came out pretty good. Not perfect, but better than expected. Damage was to of the fender above the tire. They blended the fender, head light door and hood. The finish looks good but the hood is slightly lighter. $1200 worth.

This all started over me not cutting the grass against my fence on his side.
Sorry, this is a bit of a rant.

By the way. The fence has been there for 21 years. I never knew there was a problem.

I believe that the paint on these cars is near impossible to duplicate, regardless of colour. My paint guy would not even fix my minor repairs for fear of it not matching.

He may have a mental illness that is progressing & escalating, be careful if you have pets.

I got a better look at the car today after the rain stopped. All in all I think they did a very good job. While I believe the hood is slightly lighter, the way they blended it, it will be tough for most to ever know.

The damage was above the tire. Originally they were going to blend into the hood and headlight door. They ended up also blending onto the bumper cover and the door.

The blending seems to be what makes it work. If I didn't already know, I'd have a tough time seeing it. With metallic paint they said it has to be blended to ajoining panels.

He definatly has some issues. He worked untill he was 72. If he wasn't working his job, he was doing something in his garage. He has or had a brother in Chicago. I don't think he's ever gone to visit. Other than some local car cruises and maybe 1 trip a year to Hershey or Carlise swap meets, he has no life away from home.

His daughter lives across the street and I got her over to see the car before it was fixed. I told her all that had happened since last summer, she didn't know what to say other than he had started to drink after retirement. She did say she was sorry. I also was able to talk to his wife. She said she would stop it. We'll see. I do have a dog , she's not out much without us. The good thing is, I think he's scared of her.
