CM NO Brake lights

I have no brake lights on my 2001 corvette. I also have no Hazard lights. I believe the problem is the brake switch. I checked the readings with a multimeter and the brake switch is recieving power, but when the brake is depressed the power is not going through the switch. My question is, has anyone else had this problem? And more importantly, how do you remove the brake switch?

HI there,

I would try to check the turn signals to make sure both left and right work.

If not, cycle the hazard switch on and off a few timgs to see what happens.

I am positive it is not the turn signal or the hazard switch. I got an insulated piece of wire and i connected the orange wire (brake swich power) to the spliced blue and white wire and the brake lights came on. So I know it has to be the brake switch.

HI there,

If you have no hazard lights, then the brake light switch is not creating that concern.

That was the reason why I was asking.

Push the brake switch out of the plastic retainer housing and replace.

Do you have a schematic of this to show me? I dont understand how it could possibly be the hazard switch if the brake light switch has power but is not passing it through when the brake is depressed.
