CM 84 instrument panel

The instrument panel in my 1984 coupe won't light up. I followed the removal instructions, from the service manual, and it is removed from the car. I opened up the tin piece on the back of the cluster, and saw that the IP is way more complicated than a retired 53 year old Porsche master tech should ever need to mess with. I put the rear tin back on. Where, or to whom should I send the instrument panel for repairs. I live about 25 minutes from Chicago, if it matters. Thanks Mike

HI there,

I would first check to see if the pins at the connection between the 2 circuit boards is burned.

The pins pass THRU to the rear board and sometimes are overheated.

Also, the illumination bulbs burn out readily and can be replaced separately.

Allthebest, c4c5
