my c6 doesnt want to shift from 2-3 under full throttle. the dealer changed the fluid, valve body, and now they are going to flash the computer. they said if that doesnt solve it they'll tear the transmission down but if the warranty company doesnt want to pay then ill have to. hopefully the flash will solve it. how long does it take to change the a4 in a c6 just trying to figure out how much it is and weigh my options. | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, They are GUESSING. Your data in the control module will tell you everything you need to know. Is it commanding the shift ??? What is your line pressure commanded at the time of the shift???? Your data will tell you everything, if someone is patient enough to look. I would find another dealership because THAT is just idiotic. Allthebest, c4c5 |

they hooked a code reader up,,,no codes,,,they hooked up some type of recorder that i have to activate when the problem starts. well, I'll be,,,I stepped on it about 13 times and it only didnt shift once! the dealer told me to ride around with it for the weekend. but its suppose to rain ,,,this is crazy before i took it back it was doing it all the time no it barely wants to do it. I can only imagine what this is going to run me if it still finds nothing .

HI there, They are relying on something smacking them in the face. If I was a guessing man, I would be checking the 2/4 servo, as this provides accumulation for the 2/3 shifting. What this means is hydraulic pressure will pool up in this area when the 2 to 3 shift is commanded. If there is no spike in pressure, then there is a leak down of fluid pressure and you can use a technicians guide to determine if there is a servo seal leaking. Its not rocket science but accurate diagnostic is critical. Especially if you spent that money on a valve body and it didnt fix it. I would be getting a second opinion. Attaching a line pressure gauge will allow the technician to watch to see if there is a pressure drop off when the shift is commanded. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Could he be low on fluid?

HI there, Its certainly possible, given the fact that the 3/4 clutch relies on CONSTANT fluid flow through the pressure area. Other fluid clutches usually just fill and thats it until the pressure is released. 3/4 actually has a bleed orifice that evacuates a low amount of fluid to prevent air accumulation when it releases the shift solenoid. I just hope for his sake that the dealership is not THAT blind. Allthebest, c4c5 |
