CM 1997 C5 Coupe drivers side window problem

My 1997 C5 coupe drivers side window will only go up about 2 inches. What could cause this and how difficult is it to fix? How do I go about taking the inside door panel off? Are there special tools? Where can I get any special tools?

HI there,

The regulator cable probably unspun, creating your condition.

You need a T30 torx, a 10mm and 13mm socket.

Otherwise, you really dont need anything special.

The panel uses the 2 T30 behind the door handle trim panel.

Remove the inner release handle bezel by placing a small flat screw driver in the square holes seen.

Once opening the door panel, there are 2 13mm that unclamp the glass from the regulator and 7 10mm nuts that hold the motor/regulator to the door frame.

There may be an updated regulator that requires you to replace the electrical connector as well, but this depends on your parts that you purchase.

Allthebest, c4c5
