I got a dilemma. I looked at an 07( Plane Jane ) Corvette, Black on Black with only 11K on her.PROBLEM ! I have to turn in my 01Z06 with 66K with lots of new parts. I just turned 50 and banging gears is taken a toll on me. But i think i will miss her, and you don't see an 01 Z06 on every street corner now adays. Oh well, not gonna sleep well tonite. What would you do ?

Keep your 2001 C5 Z06...and forget about the c6... I've owned both and I like the C5 Z06 better.. Don't get me wrong the c6 with the lift off roof is a nice sports car.. The c5 z06 drives like a racecar like experience that you just don't get in a c6.. Make sure you know what your doing before you make the jump.. C6 is a fine car...its just not the same as the C5 Z06. Good luck deciding and no wrong decision...

I'm 67 and couldn't even imagine an automatic trans in my Vette. Keep the C5.

As far as comparing the C5 performance "you just don't get" in a C6, they are quite similar. Now a C6Z or ZR1 are a whole different ball game!

I thank all of you for replys. Well, tonight i cleaned out my 01Q/S Z06 and tomorow i pick up the 07"plane jane" black on black w/ 11k on her. As for the term PLAIN JANE i gave her i ment low options, no HUD no Z51 ect. Anyway after long thougth to give up on my Z06, after 6yrs. and the shit load of $$$ i put into her. Damn thing is new from the head light motors to the firewall and still has issues, steering column lock, trac control, leaks like a sive, just for starters.Anyhow i think i will be happy in "PJ" with planes to tint the windows and a blackwing intake and a borla exhaust. I'll keep in touch. Thanks to all.

Hello Again; Well last saturday i picked up the 07 and it must of taken about a mile or so down the road and i forgot all about the 01Z06. This 07 with 11k still smells like new and just blew me away with it's power. When i got her home i open the books and found the first owner was a retired pilot and he was 73. I don't think this car has seen the far side of 80MPH. Anyway i don't know what will happen to my old Z06,It probably went to auction and who ever picks it up i left a note in the books to contact me if they have any questions about it's past. While i enjoy the furture in my 07. Thanks to all and good night!

Well welcome to the dark side.. Even though I loved my c5 z06 and it was a real racecar like driving experience...the c6 is as mentioned deceptably (SP) fast and a great daily driver.. Congratulations...and enjoy that practically new c6! the six speed automatic is a great transmission and if you want more of a bang feel...go for a transmission tune. Always puts a smile on my face when I drive an A6 thats been tuned... If you want an immediate feel to the accelerator...? Then consider the COW Booster.. Have fun and post a photo or two if you can.. JB its 199 or 99 dollars ..and its pretty dam impressive..

Thanks JB; I been driving the C6 for a week now and the only problem i have is it's to damn quite. I need to put a little growl in her. I have plans to put in a SLP Blackwing intake. ( I had one in my Z06 ) and loved it. But i need an exhaust system to go with it. corsa and borla are so pricey. I have my eye on the SLP power flo system that i can get for around $800. Whats your opinion or do you know anybody who has this setup. Thanks Again !
