I have heard slot of different versions of the differences between the Ca. Emissions and other states. Now I'm asking the man. Paul ,can you please explain what is done differently to Ca. Cars compared to other states. Thanks in advance. Jeff See you in Carlisle ! | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, Truthfully, you would need to specify year and model. This is because as the emissions standards change from year to year, so does what the manufacturer has to do to change them from Federal to California, which is more restrictive. Allthebest, c4c5 |

HI there, Well, if you look at the RPO configuration vs the actual parts lists, I dont see any differences. Right now, I have a car with NE1/50 state emissions and NU5/California emissions and I can see NO difference in catalytic converters or any other emission control parts. My theory is that it is just programming within the PCM but I do NOT know for sure. Evaporative canisters, engine control modules, fuel tanks and modules, catalytic converters are all the same when compared to a Corvette with FE9 50 state emissions and NT7 Federal Tier 2. So, truthfully, IMO there is no difference except for programming calibrations. I could be wrong but noone is telling me anything different. From a PARTS of the car standpoint, they are all the same.
