CM C5 Differential Fluid

Is GM P/N 88862624 still the latest part number for C5 GM differential fluid?

If I remember correctly it already contains the "modifier" and no additional additives are required.

The service manual states the capacity of the differential is 1.69 quarts, but I can't seem to find the wrench size for the drain and fill plugs on the C5 rear end.

The drain and fill plugs are 10mm hex.

The fill plug has a small, flat washer (on the differential side) that often falls off. Use caution when removing the drain plug so you don't let the washer fall into your drain tub.

Good luck.

Remove filler plug first, just in case.

I was just told my my local GM parts department part #88862624 was replaced by 89021677 ($38.99/bottle).

What the heck... Which is correct?

I think the parts man is wrong. 89021677 is what is specified for HD pickups and maybe others with the G80 locking diff. It contains no modifier.
