Hi, I have a 2005 with an automatic transmission with just under 19,000 miles where I've started having problems shifting out of park after it has been sitting for a week or even for a few hours. After letting it warm up for a few minutes and stepping on a off the brake pedal several times, it eventually shifts out of park. Do you have an idea of what might be causing this and how much it will cost to get it repaired? Thanks for your help.... | ||||||||||||||||||||

HI there, Its most likely the brake transmission shifter interlock solenoid that is creating the condition. You may take a shot and replace the shifter mechanism as the solenoid is NOT available separately. Otherwise, I would always check the data to the BCM as the brake pedal position sensor is the INPUT to the BCM to unlock the shifter. Allthebest, c4c5 |
