How can an automatic transmission be shifted into neutral on a car with a dead battery?

Good question. I looked in my electronic copy of the GM manual and did not see any transmission over ride. Is there any way to connect batttery cables to it and then shift it out of park? Or get a portable jump box to the car? | ||||||||||||||||||||

| You'll have to get underneath the car and connect jumper cables directly to the starter terminals. You can also charge the battery this way.
