If the plug wires test good, you may also have an exhaust restriction. Especially if it runs fine at idle, and backfires under load. My 2 cents.....Mike

Normally the cat. will plug up, especially if the engine was running rich, for awhile. Sometimes an exhaust baffle will come loose, in a muffler. The chances for these to happen with only 15k miles is pretty rare, but if you are finished throwing parts at the problem, this might be something to look into......Mike
