Hi there, In traffic, you will get to 230 depending on ambient temperatures. Allthebest, c4c5 |

A 160F T-Stat will open sooner than the stocker (186F, I think.) Since they both flow similarly once the temp is 187F, there should be minimal difference. (Especially @ 230F.) Be sure you clean/inspect your radiator for clogging as it can (and will) make a huge difference! I've cleaned mine on numerous occasions. In fact, I need to do it again as my temps were climbing again last weekend. I Might want to pull the clutch fluid too... | ||||||||||||||||||||

a thermostat only controls how low the engine temp will be not how high it will be

my car when I got it had a 160 stat...ran approx 190 on highway, changed back to stock and it runs same temp as 160 on highway, also in traffic both would hit 220 or slightly more. 160 with tune lets you run leaner and more power with less chance of detonation. As said leave it stock and in my opinion just tune that way. If you want to run cooler in traffic have fans set to come on sooner...of course this means they wear out faster, nothing is free in life. good luck
