CM Squeaky steering wheel

This is not a biggy, but it's worth asking about. I have a squeak coming from the steering column, sounds like a foot outside the firewall. You hear it in parking lots, driveways, doing parking maneuvers. I know it needs lubrication, but how do you get there without destroying your car?

It's very tight in that neighborhood..... It really sounds like it's outside of the column, like rubber to metal.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Best,
