Unhappy Strange headlight problem

2005 Coupe. My headlights work every morning at first. After about 1 hour both of the lights go out. All other lights are on, parking lights, tail lights, and so is the green indicator on the dash. Fog lights and high beams work. The headlights won't work for the rest of the day or evening. (and no it's not light out). Next morning all is fine again for an hour. I've replaced the headlight relay. I know how important grounds are but don't know where to look. Manual headlight mode doesn't work either. Any help?

Question

Is it possible that water is some how causing a short? This is a common problem with the signal lamps on the C5 Vettes, as the bulb burns through the lamp housing. A void is left and water intrudes into the socket and there goes your signal lamps - either for good or intermittently (until the moisture dries). Just an idea; hope this helps...Good Luck.

Since it's both headlamps, it can't be only one "exciter." Have you checked (and rechecked) all the common ground(s?)

After the hour, do both lamps fail at the same time? Do they dim or flicker? (I know, I know, it sounds like LUCAS electrics!)

Both lamps fail at the same time. No warning, no flicker. I want to check the grounds but need direction as to where to locate them. Thanks for the replies. By the way I've been a member on this site for years but just recently changed my name. I was formally Joe Vette.
Please Help.
