CM dic code 28-TCS

Hi:
2002 Z06
The other day while out cruising at about 70 MPH I got a "service abs & service traction" message. Upon reaching my destination I shut off the engine and when I re-started the messages where gone. I checked the codes and got
28-TCS C1214H
I reset it and all seems well.
Any idea if this was just a fluke or is something really happening?
Thanks.

C5 Ebcm that controls the abs and the traction control systems are notorious for crapping out. Mine went several years ago , luckily under warranty , and I know 3 people in our club right now that are experiencing the same problem. Unfortunately it is a very expensive fix and from what I am seeing on the forums , new units ate no longer available. I'm not sure if that is accurate or not. C4C5 specialist would have better info. Best of Luck!

HI there,

I have seen some that have been rebuilt, I have seen others that cannot be.

Truthfully, even the later units are rare and hard to find.

I would definately double check to see if there is any other issues with the ground sourcing.

Lets be very clear, most of the C1214 that I have had are due to vehicles that SIT alot and are not driven regularly.

I have also seen vehicles, that when driven regularly for a week to a month, clear up the condition due to relay cycling and burning off the contacts.

Allthebest, c4c5

The car does sit a lot. Only gets driven 2 to 3 thousand miles per year. The problem has not returned since the one time it happened and the car has been put away for the winter. Maybe I'll drive it more in 2012.

Mine started that way. It would come on once and a while but then it started happening more often. Over the course of a year or so it came on everytime I drove it. I sent the EBCM to ABS fixer last year and it has been fine since. I believe they replace a relay in the unit. Very common problem.
