The time goes by so fast, even faster I guess when a person has to store their Vette during winter like me. One things for sure, I'm not getting rid of it any time soon, it's mine and I own it of course.
The build month and year is on the door sticker inside the drivers side door, but not the exact day of the month.
I got my complete build sheet emailed to me for free from a GM service tech one day on the CorvetteForum.com I don't go there much anymore....way too much BS for me! I really like this site though and read it everyday. Your '98 is alot like mine exc. you have a 6spd. Mine is too fast and quick for me, so I don't plan on messing with it anymore. That usually leads to problems I don't need.....like alot of the guys on this site have! ha

Just looked at my build sheet, car was made on 8/22/1997 but before yours. So its 14 years old now like yours!

Were like brothers! LOL!!!

Sadly mine is in storage now, oh well, that's how it goes for Michigan.

The other sites and BS is right. I'm all for joking around but on some sites, you get jokes, or people speaking off the cuff for answers and then in the end may never get a real answer to your issue. Sure we don't joke alot here but the site is straight up truth and answers. I for one will delete my post if wrong, or not even answer if I'm not 90% sure of my answer.

And more issues to a car that's been modded is right! I'm done modding mine!

Now go play with your tools!

They must have built all of the "best" cars in the later half of '97! LOL My '98 was built on 9/23/97.

You and Tool Guy have a couple of the earliest 98's off the line. Ours do have some different set ups on them compared to later 98's and following MY's....like the EBCM being attached to the rear clip instead of in front of the engine. I like the extra room in front of the engine for sure. About the only thing I need to do my coupe is take time to clean the grounding points really well in the engine bay...and others too. I get a couple of minor DTC's once in awhile, but they usually clear themselves. I've been across country 3 times or else my miles would be lower, but I always take it on any road trips, unless there is snow forecast. I still get great gas mileage, 28-30mph normally depending on traffic etc, so I don't complain. I'm a DIY'er and have done just a few small subtle engine bay paint mods. I also found an old hot rod painter 2yrs ago and had him paint my halo bar and solid top Black. I did an amazing job for me, w/5 coats of clearcoat that looks like polished black marble. I like the contrast and get alot of nice complimentes for other vette owners, and it goes well with my black leather interior. I'm fortunate to live in S.W. Missouri where our winters are normally pretty mild so I have a rule to drive it every week, exc. for snow and icey roads of course. I have some great hill & twisty Ozark back roads to cruise around on. Take care guys, and have a great weekend!
