What is in the tank ? Is the Is the indicator integral with the tank ? Or is it separate and somehow attached ? Fluid is up to the proper level but upon initial start up and for a few minutes it registers " Low Coolant ". I would appreciate your valuable input. 99 coupe, 6MM, 130,000 miles. DexCool changed twice since new with distilled water. Coolant is clear.

Common issue on your year car. You probably have the old surge tank design. See this TSB.

Thank you Junkman ! The TSB you pulled did the thing for me. Since my MR is 1999 and built 8- 20- 98 I have the revised part #. I'm on my way to the garage to realign the tank. I'l get back to you to upon my finding.

Found the tank, as expected, to be the correct later design. Following the TSB, I found the tank properly mounted. Further found the car to be slightly on an lower front than rear end due to the garage floor as I back the car into the garage. Possible that the fluid may have been slightly low. Added SMALL amount of fluid to be sure of proper level. I will report on my findings tomorrow. Again, thank you for your help!

As requested, here are the findings on the actions taken. I beleive the level may have been only a very slight low condition. So I added a very small amount of coolant and secured the tank as per the TSB. It seems the problem is solved as the light did not come on. The tank was in the proper spec as far as the TSB. Conclusion : garage floor tilt and low coolant. Thank you for your assistance ! | ||||||||||||||||||||

Junkman, in the past there at times, was a request for donations to keep CM on it's own. I have not seen this same request for a long time. Would you please get me up to speed on this most important function?
