Hi all, I'm new here, and I joined to ask this question: is it possible to use a newer column from a 2010 Z06 in my 2007 Z06? The immediate and obvious difference is the steering wheel sensor. The 2010 column has a different sensor than that of 2007, but both are 4 wire sensors. The 2007 schematic shows the 4 wires as 5V reference, low reference (ground?), Signal A, and Signal B. I don't have a reference for a 2010 pinout of the SWS. The reason for the swap is that my 2007 column has a problem with the tilt mechanism such that the pressed in pins keep falling out. thanks!

HI there, I cannot find a reason why you cant do it. Simply swap over the steering sensor and your done. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Thanks c4c5, but... You can't swap the steering sensor... they have different diameters, different end bearings etc. Both are 4 pin devices; so maybe the pinout on the wiring is different? Do you have the pinout of the 2010 sensor? (I have the 07 pinout).

Hi there, The pinouts are the same HOWEVER, the signals are different from what I have seen. Obviously they are different part numbers from 2007 - 2010. I was unaware of the diameter difference. Noone can correlate if the SIGNALS are that different to create a problem as to how it functions. I do know that the control module is different also. Allthebest, c4c5 |

Oh well. In practice, I find that the swap sets the Service Active Handling warning, and sets code B0710. The underlying protocol must have changed enough so that the new sensor doesn't behave "correctly" according to the EBCM. Time to disassemble the columns and simply swap the tilt mechanisms. Thanks for the help!

2007 systems were ADELPHI and 2008-present are BOSCH regarding wheel bearing sensors. Could this be part of that change? (I know it's a longshot...)
