I have 2008 MN6 with 12,700 miles. Went in service 9/2007. Two weeks ago I began having problems opening my door in the morning. When I did get it open and tried to start the car I would get the "NO FOB DETECTED" message. After putting it in the glove box slot it would eventually start. The problem continued so I did the following: 1) Replaced the FOB battery. The problem continued and got worse. 2) Replaced the car battery with a fresh new one two days ago. Testing showed CCA was low and the battery needed to be replaced. The problem is continuing and I had a lot of trouble getting in and trying to start the car this morning. The car works fine after it has been started once. It seem to be mostly in the morning after the car has been sitting overnight that it acts like the communications signals won't "wake up". Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks - Scruff Vette PS - GM....Please bring back the keys.

Since you've replaced BOTH batteries (car & FOB,) then we can rule those out. (As long as you got good batteries...) Ok, let's say you did. Since the FOB talks to the car (and the car talks back to the FOB) via RF, there's a good chance your RF signal is being interupted/corrupted. Have you recently~ 1. Installed a cellphone charger in the car? 2. Parked underneath high tension lines? 3. Parked near power company transer station? 4. Have a pager/cellphone/garagedoor opener/IPOD/ or any other electrical device close to the shifter? 5. Installed a "mild to wild" switch? 6. New cellphone?

BINGO...Number 6. New cell phone, (Verizon Samsung Convoy 2). Bought it on 10/19. I had problems the next day and bought the new FOB battery 10/20. Now what?? I can't carry the cellphone in my pocket or the car? I thought about this and this morning I even tried laying the FOB on top of the cell phone and entering and starting the car to rule it out....and no problem. I'm sure it has not fixed itself, but currently no issues. Nothing worse than intermittent electrical problems. Too late to return the phone...14 day return policy expired.

NORTY, After doing some research I found there was a TSB #07260A for early '08s relating to this problem and DIC chiming when leaving the vehicle (another problem I have off and on). My car was a very early '08 and the VIN is only a little before the break for the cars (05302-06987). Also, there is a software update for the problem with the '08 version being #25927326. My dealer's service dept. (Tom Henry Chev, PA) is good to work with and they have ordered the parts for the TSB and will check the software when they perform the work required. I'm covered under GMPP. I hope this will do the trick. Figured it can't hurt.

Scruff Vette, since you have GM working on the problem, have them check to see if there are any codes at all. Not all codes will trip a CEL. Interesting about the TSB...
