In relation to code B0005. Having looked at the SCL details in the manual today; specifically the wiring diagram; it appears the "manual in reverse" signal directly relates to the "Auto in park" signal. If I were a betting man I would have a wager on that being a direct read across as there appears to be no equivalent code for the manual box. So the question is if that circuit is not being energised due to it not making it as far as the SCL would the BCM have a wobbly and not meet the required logic to energise the reverse lamps and shut down the car?

Dealer called late today with some news, sadly I was on a very noisy airfield and was busy so I could only talk briefly. He says they have done a level 2 diagnostic check and found another code. B2907. He says they can go no further with diagnostics and suggest changing the SCL and SCLCM. $1459 + tax. He also says he cannot guarantee that it won't need the BCM replacing after this also. What are the chances of the BCM, SCL, and SCLCM all failing simultaneously on a short drive? I think it's time to get the car home and have a rethink. There must be an easier way of getting the DTC info from these cars?

The car is now back in my garage and I am hoping to start making some progress. I have had the battery checked independently at two places and both say it checks out V good. I have also purchased two new battery clamps to ensure good connectivity, again no change. Dealership report is as follows, I tried to glean as much info from him but he was very unwilling to talk beyond what was written down. Maybe he is spot on with his diagnostics but I would love you guys' second opinion. Start... S600 PERFORMED EXCESSIVE DIAG. MULTI DTC’S. CUST ADVISED NEEDS ELECTRONIC COLUMN LOCK AND MODULE TO START, THEN PROGRAM AND ADVISE. 70399 COLUMN LOCK DIAG, VEH HAS SEVERAL CODES AND MOST MODULES, CLEARED CODES, AND RECHECKED ALL MODULES FOR CODES, B0005 AND B2907 ARE CURRENT, DIAG CODE , TESTED FUSES AND RELAY, TESTED CRANK RELAY, FOUND NO POWER AT REVERSE LIGHTS FUSE, TESTED CIRCUIT AT REVERSE LIGHT SWITCHES IN TRANS, CIRCUITS HAVE NO POWER. HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH ALL MODULES. FOLLOWED SI DOC #1430455 LEADS TO REPLACING COLUMN LOCK AND MODULE, TESTED CIRCUITS AND COULD NOT COMMAND LOCK TO OPERATE. REVERSE SHUT OFF AND LIGHTS CIRCUITS GO THROUGH COLUMN LOCK MODULE. TRANS SEEMS TO GO INTO ALL GEARS, NEED TO REPLACE COLUMN LOCK AND MODULE, CUSTOMER DECLINED AT THIS TIME. ...end. As ever, any assistance is most gratefully received. Ritch
