CM Sqeak, Snap, Crakle, Pop

2009 ZO6 with 16K miles. It is sqeaking when ever I go over a bump. On the Corvette Forum others had the same problem. Two springs that hold the exaust in place.

Before I new this I took the car to the Chevy dealership. They could not determine the source of the speak. They proceeded to "torque" my suspension to hopefully eliminate the sqeak. This failed.

Now everytime I start the car, turn the wheels, and back out of a drive way or parking spot I here a pop from the front side of the car. It happens on both sides depending on which way I turn the wheels and start to move.

This happens only once. Absolutely nothing strange while driving that I notice. If I park it again, start up again, turn the wheels and go it pops again. This only happens when I start the car and go.

What did these guys do? I come in to elimate a sqeak and now the car pops every time I get in it and go.

Thanks for you advice in advance,

Richard D. Cadena

Check your passengerside axle nuts. I think you'll find the source of your "clicking" problem there.

I took the car back to the dealership. The previous time they replaced the tranverse spring, torqued almost everything up and did a four wheel alignment.

This last time (yesterday), pursuant to a bulletin, they checked the engine cradle. Apparently this was not to torqued enough at the factory. They fixed this and lubed all the parts that need to be lubricated. No squeaks, crackles or pops.

It runs better than new.
