How come for such much more refined car I cant check clear codes on my 2007 like I could on my previous 3 c5's???

I agree it's a step back, but you can get a simple code reader for a few bucks & still do it. A handheld tuner or edit software also work, but cost more.

:)

Does anyone know of other cars where you can get to specific codes without a reader?

C5 is all I know of. I am not sure why GM even offered it.
