I'm going to need to replace the fuel line from the rear wheelwell to under the battery tray on my '65 coupe. It appears that the factory laid it along the frame before the body was dropped on. Would an aluminum fuel line be accepatble to use here? I'm considering aluminum so as to snake it through the frame without kinking or bending like I think a steel one would. NCRS correctness doesn't matter and pulling the body is out of the question. Thanks for any input.

HI there, From a safety standpoint, NO, steel is the only alternative to what you have on the vehicle. When we did an install of a fuel injected 350 into a 64, I ran a steel fuel line on the inside of the frame rail and held it in place with rubber isolation mounting clamps. And using a tubing bender, it usually doesnt kink and works well. Allthebest, c4c5 |

If my memory serves, you "blessed" stainless steel lines as well...

I Don’t know what your situation is but you can also try this. Procure a length of the correct fuel line you require and fold one end over to seal it. With a small funnel or a rolled paper fill the tube with fine clean DRY sand. Kids toy box sand strained through a window screen works. Vibrate or tap the tube every few seconds to pack the sand. Once the tube is filled fold the other end over trapping the sand. Now you can bend the tube without kinking it. When you are done cut the ends off and blow out the sand then wash out the tube.
