CM Great automotive product I bought!

Not for the Vette but for my Jeep compass.

My compass is only a few months old and I already got a ding. I actually think I drove over a branch in the fall and it kicked up and hit the passanger door. I think this since the ding is horizontal and not verticle like normal door dings.

At any rate someone mentioned a kit for door ding removals. I found it, used it and it works great!

I paid $25 for the B100 kit and took minutes to use! From my local Harbor Feight store. Here is their link.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94887

The Jeep is leased and I am pretty sure I would not get charged for the ding but I hate looking at it. Plus the Jeep has no body side moldings, (thanks Jeep) so I may get more as time goes on.

Here is the link to the site and you can buy all different kinds of different sizes for the size dent you have. Plus more glue sticks if you run out.

Here is the link, check it out! Again, I got the B100 kit on the right of this page.

I am so excited about this I cannot get over it and especially since I detail cars every now and then for people and now I can charge to remove dings!

Now go play with your tools!

Sure here's how.

You first pick a glue depending on the outside temp, the red or yellow sticks. Heat it up and then pick one of the threaded rods based on the size of the ding. Apply the glue to the end of the rod and stick it right in the center of the ding. It drys quickly...

Next, take the plastic rubber footed crossbar and slide it over the threaded rod, like a bridge. Then take the wing nut and thread it onto the rod.

As you tighten the wing nut against the bridge it pulls the dent towards you. You crank it just slightly beyond where the metal is normally flat.

To get the rod off the panel or to clean the rod, the kit includes a solution which smells like alcohol.

That is it and it works! Very cool!

Now go play with your tools!

Sounds like a less intrusive way to go about things. I have a paintless dent removal kit at my shop. Same things the professional mobile dent remover people use. The catch is that you gotta take a door panel or some kind of liner or trim off to get the spoons behind the dent.

Yeah I have heard about those and seen some that use rods...

I was going to take apart my Jeep's door and got the procedure from the tech wirter at DCX. However, DCX is now going to door modules and the interior trim piece is now 3 pieces, after that is removed there is another panel or the module with the lock rods, connectors, window regulator and other items that must come off before you can actually see the inside of the door. Oh yeah the glass must come out first before the module can be taken out.

Sounded like a real pain, so I found this kit.
