After you F the oil companies, please remember to do do likewise to the Enviromentalists (100's of boutique gas blends, no drilling, might bother a moose) the NIMBY's (no new refineries) and your elected government (almost 1/2 the cost is federal & state taxes).

That's a lot of typing though, it's easier to just blame the oil companies.

Thanks, Foggy47 so true. The "Tree Huggers" have screwed up the oil drilling here in Alaska for years. Also the feds and state taxes nail us too.

I do realize though there is more then the oil companies to blame.

I just am tired of it, even my state govn can get bent. The oil companies pockets keep getting fatter and for no good reason but mine do not. My state is in a single state recession and gas prices are above average here yet no one does any thing about it. Tired of the oil companies excuses such as this one is off line for maintenance. Or summer is coming. Or this holiday weekend is coming... Blah, blah, blah... Then the companies should push harder in a different way to build more refineries...

I do my part and drive a 4 cylinder my lovely wife does too. Excluding the Vette which is not a daily driver.

I have gone Green majorly in the past month. I combine trips to conserve gas too. Things I have done to conserve resources are:

Four of my home electronics now are Energy Star rated. Installed some CF bulbs and LED light bulbs. We recycle more then throwing trash out now. Mulch my grass when I cut it. When run the AC I collect the condensation in a 5 gallon bucket and we use it to water the flowers in the yard. Unplug electronics that are not used on a regular basis. There is more but those are just the major things...

I save money and resources just to give it to the gas companies I guess then.

Now go play with your tools!

Hi ToolGuy,

Did not mean to come off as unsympathetic. I was just getting the impression that you thought it was all on the Big Oil (which I have no connection with). Plenty of other reasons for high gas cost was all I meant.

I did not even get into the Middle East & terrorism & how that all contributes to the cost.

I too am doing what I can to help the environment/conserve resources. It's not so hard & every little bit helps as the saying goes.

If I put a can/bottle in the wrong bin my kids are all over my case!

Kids Froggy putting trash out.

Moves it to the correct recycling bin

Peace Out.

I suppose the only way gas will come down is when we all reduce our consumption... However loads of people like V8's as daily drivers and others and do not mind paying for the fuel. I just am waiting until gas becomes so expensive like over in Europe.

For now I will just keep on truckin with my Jeep and try and keep my own fuel bills down.

Please do not take my rant the wrong way I just am cranky since my States economy stinks, while just about all the other States are doing well. Not your fault or the gas companies but I am stuck here even if I wanted to move and lucky to have my job I suppose.

Hang In,

Watch who you (we all) put in the White House. Taking this country down the socialist road is not going to help anyone in the long run.
