I stopped over at an old friends that bought a 2004 silver c5 convertible. He loves the car and has about 12K miles in the 3 years with the vehicle. His d.i.c. reads "low oil level" but when we checked the oil it read full. I suggested he check the oil level first thing in the morning and he says he has and it always reads full. Also a small amount of smoke or what seemed like dark steam came out of the dipstick as we checked it.(after driving the car) Is that normal? Any suggestions on the action that should be taken if the oil level is fine on the dipstick but the d.i.c often reads "low oil level" Thanks in advance JB | ||||||||||||||||||||

Hi there, Basically, its most likely either the oil level sensor or the temperature sensor. Not uncommon and fairly easy to fix. Allthebest, c4c5 |
